Position Overview: 


The Senior Procurement Specialist - Consumables will support the execution and administration of BUILD Renewables' consumables procurement program across utility-scale solar, BESS, repower, and other project needs. This role focuses on recurring consumables purchasing, approved catalogs, national account supplier coordination, rebate and incentive tracking, and timely jobsite support. This position will collaborate with Supply Chain, Project Management, Superintendents, Safety, Finance, Preconstruction, and suppliers to improve cost control, preferred vendor compliance, and consumables spend visibility.


Essential Functions: 

  • Consumables Program Management: Support the company-wide consumables program for PPE, small tools, fasteners, site materials, trailer/jobsite supplies, and equipment support items.
  • National Accounts & Preferred Vendors: Coordinate and maintain national account and preferred vendor programs, volume agreements including pricing, service levels, incentives, terms and conditions, contacts, and supplier reporting.
  • Ordering & Fulfillment Management: Process and track high volume consumables orders, backorders, returns, and deliveries to support project and jobsite needs.
  • Catalog & Standardization: Maintain approved item catalogs, standard SKU lists, project startup kits, and tool repair/replacement processes.
  • Vendor Relations & Issue Resolution: Act as the day-to-day contact for consumables suppliers and resolve pricing, quality, freight, billing, and delivery issues.
  • Spend & Budget Tracking: Monitor spend by vendor, project, category, and cost code; support monthly variance, savings, compliance, and budget reporting.
  • Incentive & Rebate Tracking: Track rebates, volume discounts, quarterly incentives, earned credits, and other program benefits; validate supplier reporting.
  • Data Integrity & Reporting: Maintain item, pricing, vendor, account, lead-time, and purchase data; support dashboards, KPI tracking, and supplier scorecards.
  • Stakeholder & Site Support: Coordinate with project teams, Superintendents, Safety, Finance, Preconstruction, and Operations to support field needs.
  • Process Compliance & Improvement: Support SOPs, approval workflows, cost-code discipline, exception processes, and continuous improvement. Other responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Construction Management, Business Administration, or related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in procurement, supply chain, construction coordination, distribution, vendor account management, or related field.
  • Experience in construction and Renewables with consumables, PPE, tools, construction materials, logistics coordination, or national accounts is preferred.
  • Possess working knowledge of Microsoft Office and willingness to learn project management software.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities. 
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills possessing the ability to interact with suppliers and internal teams.
  • Ability to review spend, pricing, lead times, vendor performance, and supply chain issues; escalate risks or opportunities promptly.
  • Ability to perform under schedule restraints. 
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and good driving record.

Working Conditions:

  • Approximately 25% travel to national project sites as needed.
  • Construction site environment – physical ability to stand, walk, crawl, bend, reach and climb.  Exposed to high noise levels.
  • General work environment – sitting for long periods, standing, walking, typing, carrying, pushing, bending. Work is conducted primarily indoors with varying environmental conditions such as fluorescent lighting and air conditioning. 
  • Noise level is usually low to medium; it can be loud on the jobsite.
