Position Summary:
The Machine Operator Advanced is responsible for setting up, operating, and monitoring production equipment to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality manufacturing operations. This role follows established safety procedures, work instructions, and quality standards while performing advanced machine operations with minimal supervision. The Advanced Machine Operator supports production goals by troubleshooting basic equipment and quality issues, maintaining accurate production records, and collaborating with team members to drive continuous improvement in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Operate production machinery safely and efficiently while following established procedures, policies, and safety guidelines.
Perform machine start-up, setup, operation, troubleshooting, and shutdown procedures.
Read and interpret work orders, job instructions, and production specifications.
Monitor production processes to ensure quality standards and company goals are met.
Inspect products and identify defects, quality issues, or process concerns.
Apply knowledge of quality standards, defect causes, and corrective actions to maintain product quality.
Make adjustments to equipment or processes as needed to support production requirements.
Provide feedback and communicate production, quality, and equipment concerns to team leads, supervisors, and managers.
Perform routine checks and inspections using hands-on methods and basic testing procedures.
Safely handle, move, and position materials and products weighing up to 50 pounds.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in compliance with company safety and environmental regulations.
Work independently for short periods while maintaining production standards and efficiency.
Collaborate with team members to support continuous improvement initiatives and overall company performance.
Qualifications – Required
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Ability to safely operate and monitor manufacturing machinery.
Basic knowledge of machine operation, including start-up, setup, operation, and shutdown procedures.
Ability to read and understand work orders, job instructions, and production documentation.
Ability to follow established safety procedures, company policies, and environmental regulations.
Ability to identify quality issues, defects, and process concerns during production.
Basic problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot routine machine or production issues.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining production standards.
Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented manufacturing environment.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality standards.
Ability to communicate production concerns and provide feedback to team leads, supervisors, and managers.
Qualifications - Preferred
Previous experience operating manufacturing or production machinery.
Experience with machine setup, adjustments, and troubleshooting.
Prior experience in a manufacturing, assembly, or production environment.
Knowledge of quality inspection processes and defect prevention methods.
Experience following manufacturing work instructions, procedures, and production standards.
Experience using basic measurement tools or inspection equipment.
Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize production tasks.
Experience participating in continuous improvement initiatives.
Bilingual English/Spanish communication skills.
Experience working with production teams in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive physical tasks.
Ability to lift, move, and position materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
Ability to stand for extended periods throughout the work shift.
Ability to walk, bend, reach, stoop, and move around the manufacturing floor as required.
Ability to use hands, arms, and fingers to operate machinery, handle materials, perform inspections, and position products.
Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials and components weighing up to 50 pounds.
Ability to safely handle bulky materials and products during production processes.
Ability to perform repetitive motions involving hands, wrists, arms, and upper body.
Ability to maintain attention and coordination while operating machinery and monitoring production processes.
Ability to visually inspect products for defects and quality concerns.
Ability to work in a factory environment with varying noise levels, temperatures, and fast-paced production conditions.
Compensation:
Final compensation will be determined based on factors such as location, experience, and skills.
