Responsibilities
- Work with basic security concepts and terminology such as the CIA triad, industry best practices, risk, vulnerability, threat, attack vectors, encryption, encoding, and various types of threat actors.
- Creating incident reports, process documentation, and interacting with stakeholders.
- Consume policy documentation and determine applicability in a network.
- Evaluate existing and new technologies, work with key cross functional partners to establish security standards for infrastructure technology projects and supporting procedures.
- Take part in cross-functional team initiatives to identify and prioritize opportunities to reduce risk to our data center infrastructure.
- Identify improvements to processes and workflows, related to physical and logical data protection.
- Work with partner teams to engineer solutions related to data protection.
- Collaborate with Information Security, Network Security and compliance teams to validate that Data Center design, processes and procedures align with broader Facebook policies, standards and requirements.
- Assist in investigating complex technical matters on a global scale; spanning multiple disciplines such as storage technologies, network security, identity management, data destruction methodologies, and workflow integration.
- Leverage metrics to inform decisions as to what to prioritize and how to approach a given problem.
- Educate partners on standards and policies, drive overall security awareness and program communication.
- Domestic and International Travel 30% required.
- Telecommuting from anywhere in the U.S. allowed.
Minimum Qualifications
- Requires Master’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Cyber Security or related field
- Requires completion of a graduate-level course, research project or internship involving the following:
- Understanding of security strategies, principles, and practices
- Understanding and awareness of prevailing industry standards and guidelines
- Security risk management
- Threat modeling
- Operational Technology (OT) and Industrial Control
- System architecture and protocols
- SQL and scripting languages such as python
- Ability to assess security risk and communicate information about security requirements, threats and vulnerabilities to inform business decisions and derive strategy
- Establishing, scaling, and maturing security projects and programs
$221,578/year to $261,800/year + bonus + equity + benefits
