Responsibilities
- Work with Meta engineers on the next generation optical communication technology with a particular focus on the testing of optical modules and subsystems for Data Center applications.
- Work cross functionally across Meta teams including SW, Thermal, Mechanical, and EE
- Develop test and simulation methodologies relevant for next-generation, high-speed optical technologies.
- Develop automation practices and solutions for lab testing.
- Streamline data collection, retrieval and analysis.
- Characterization of RF/mm-wave systems, such as S-parameter measurements, jitter measurements, and ADC/DAC performance.
Minimum Qualifications
- Currently has, or is in the process of obtaining, a Bachelor's degree in Optical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, Applied Physics, or related field
- Familiarity with lab equipment such as optical spectrum analyzer, high speed oscilloscopes, high speed probes, logic analyzers, optical power meters or data acquisition systems
- Experience in Python or other object-oriented programming language, or C/C++, or MATLAB

Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with system-level optical communication hardware and components
- Experience in high-speed optical and electrical tests
- Experience working in a distributed software development environment with other engineers
- Experience with lab automation
- Intent to return to degree-program after the completion of the internship/co-op
