Responsibilities
- Design, prototype, and build flows and experiences that are simple and elegant for Meta's platforms, products, or applications.
- Take broad, conceptual ideas and turn them into something useful and valuable.
- Design web and mobile workflows and user experiences that are adaptable to users’ changing needs.
- Develop procedures and monitor the manufacture of their designs to improve operations and product quality.
- Participate in new product planning or market research, including studying the potential need for new products.
- Evaluate feasibility of design ideas, based on factors such as appearance, safety, function, budget, production costs/methods, and market characteristics.
- Utilize a full range of product, interaction, and visual design skills to seek out creative, design-led solutions to challenging problems.
- Give and solicit feedback from other designers in order to continually raise the bar for quality.
- Work alongside cross-functional teams to ensure the feasibility of the design and functionality with the necessary level of finesse.
- Partner with product managers, engineers, researchers, and content strategists to oversee the user experience of a product from conception until launch.
- Contribute to strategic decisions with the product and executive teams.
- Ensure cohesive branding with the marketing team.
- Identify ways in which technologies can provide new functionality and better user experiences.
- Provide additional post-launch design support to maximize continued efficiency in a constantly evolving environment.
- Telecommuting is allowed anywhere in the U.S.
Minimum Qualifications
- Requires a Master's degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Business or related field and 36 months of experience in the job offered or in a related occupation
- Requires 36 months of experience in the following:
- Building and shipping applications or software at the level of whole features or products across a variety of platforms
- Interaction design, including defining how an experience should behave based on understanding people's needs
- Prototyping
- Visual design, including typography, desktop or mobile user interface, color, layout, and iconography
- Understanding product goals, identifying opportunities, and making decisions based on the impact to internal and external users
- Creating user flow and mockups to articulate design concepts
- Defining product specifications and user experiences
- Understanding and interpreting user research and usability testing
- Conducting end to end design process across multiple projects including interaction and visual design artifacts and high-fidelity prototypes
- Building and shipping applications or software at company-level scale
- Leading end to end design process across multiple projects including interaction and visual design artifacts, multiple iterations, and high-fidelity prototypes
- Developing product goals, identifying opportunities in a global market, and making strategic design decisions based on impact to the company
- Partnering with cross-functional partners to drive product strategy with a user-centric approach leveraging design thinking methodologies and best practices
$215,166/year to $230,230/year + bonus + equity + benefits
