Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive portfolio strategy that aligns with the organization's overall goals and objectives
- Support framework development to enable execution of portfolio programs from ideation, desktop study, technical and commercial validation and adoption into DC products
- Ensure alignment of engineering programs with IDC OKRs, Sustainability Roadmap(s), Building/System Block strategy, and value propositions that meet current business needs
- Lead collaborations with cross-functional partners to set internal emissions reduction targets and drive the development of emission reduction strategies
- Support budget and contract management for vendors and EORs
- Build and manage relationships, form consensus and coordinate with internal, cross-functional partners (including leadership), facilitate discussions, seek alignment and sponsorship of decarbonization initiatives
- Provide monthly and quarterly reporting to leadership, and effectively communicate program progress internally
- Identify and improve inefficiencies in how we operate to move faster with higher quality outcomes
- Ability to travel (10%)
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a directly related field, or equivalent practical experience
- Bachelor's degree in environment studies, architecture, engineering, or equivalent practical experience
- 7+ years of related experience in corporate sustainability or related fields preferably in the build environment
- Working knowledge of Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions, carbon reduction strategies, LEED requirements, climate resiliency principles, and evaluation techniques
- Experience delivering complex tech programs and/or products from inception to delivery
- Experience operating autonomously across multiple teams, demonstrated critical thinking, and thought leadership
- Effective communication and experience working with technical management teams to develop systems, solutions, and products
- Experience establishing work relationships across multi-disciplinary teams and coordinating/ leading building partnerships with internal stakeholders
- Experience to diplomatically resolve issues through understanding conflicting inputs, achieving alignment, and proposing go-forward solutions
- Experience managing multiple projects and coordinating with internal interdisciplinary teams as well as external stakeholders
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in related field (e.g. MBA, Master’s in Sustainability Management, Environmental science)
- Experience in sustainability consulting and leading engagements with corporate clients
- Experience setting and implementing corporate emissions reductions goals aligned best industry standards such as with the Science-Based Target Initiative (SBTi)
- Decarbonization experience in sectors such as mechanical, electrical, structural, site and other impactful data center systems
- Demonstrated leadership in developing value chain emissions reduction strategy for large corporations
- Experience delivering projects aligned with large-scale corporate goals through influence and collaboration
$160,000/year to $223,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits
