About the Role

Super Steel is looking for an experienced Industrial Wet Painter to join our 2nd shift team in Mequon, WI.


The Wet Painter applies high-quality industrial coatings to metal components and finished assemblies, with a strong focus on film thickness, color accuracy, adhesion, and overall finish quality. This is a hands-on role for someone who takes pride in consistent, high-quality work.


Experience in automotive, aerospace, metal fabrication, or other industrial painting environments is preferred.


Key Responsibilities

  • Apply wet paint coatings to parts and assemblies according to job orders, customer specifications, and internal documentation
  • Operate spray guns, pumps, pressure pots, and related painting equipment
  • Adjust equipment and application settings to achieve the required finish
  • Perform surface preparation including cleaning, masking, sanding, and solvent wiping
  • Use wet mil gauges and visual inspection techniques to verify coating thickness and finish quality
  • Properly handle, rack, and stage parts for drying and curing
  • Clean and maintain spray guns, paint booths, hoses, and related equipment
  • Maintain 7S housekeeping standards within the work area
  • Perform trained and approved material handling using pallet jacks or forklifts
  • Follow all Super Steel and OSHA safety requirements
  • Complete required documentation and perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Minimum 1 year of industrial wet painting experience preferred
  • Experience in metal fabrication, automotive, aerospace, or a similar manufacturing environment is a plus
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, job orders, and customer specifications
  • Basic math skills, including whole numbers, fractions, and decimals
  • Ability to read and follow written instructions and specifications
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Reliable attendance and ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Forklift experience is a plus; training and certification provided

Schedule

2nd Shift: 2:30 PM–11:00 PM, Monday–Friday

Optional overtime available.
