PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Under general guidance of the Senior VP Commercial Loan Officer, independently prepares credit analysis and credit review reports and effectively manages the staff and operation of the Commercial Credit Department to ensure timely completion of credit analysis, credit review and appraisal review functions necessary to meet Bank goals.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

2. Manages overall department output, workload, and staff assignments to ensure department goals are met for preparation of comprehensive, detailed credit analysis reports outlining a thorough credit risk assessment of new loan applicants for presentation to the bank’s Investment Committee.
3. Responsible for ensuring goals are met for the preparation of annual credit reviews of the bank’s large commercial relationships. Reviews for loan covenant compliance; provides a written summary of the most recent year’s performance and loan exceptions to the responsible Loan Officer. Incorporates the Officer’s comments into the annual review, as appropriate.
4. Perform internal Real Estate collateral evaluations as needed.
5. Manage the appraisal review function to ensure timely completion of appraisal reviews, reasonableness of value estimates and compliance with Bank appraisal policy.
6. Assist with preparation of Watch List Reports and Loan Loss Reserve analysis.
7. Maintain and manage a system to ensure accurate tracking of required financial statements and annual file commentaries, to ensure credit files are kept up-to-date.
8. Create and produce other spreadsheets and/or reports as requested by management, to monitor such things as portfolio concentrations, credit exceptions, large borrowing relationships, pipeline activity, trends, etc.
9. Provide training, guidance and leadership to junior staff members within the credit analysis function, including reviewing draft reports and provide editing guidance when necessary or appropriate.
10. Satisfactorily completes all required compliance training and complies with all regulations which apply to the scope of the position.
11. Performs additional duties as requested.
MINIMUM PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Physical surroundings are generally pleasant and comfortable with minimal exposure to injury or other hazards with moderate level of noise. Minimal physical effort required; normally seated with the freedom of movement on a regular basis; could involve extended periods of time using the computer.

DESIRED JOB EXPERIENCE
Five to seven years of related credit analysis experience and/or training in a banking/credit environment, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Prior supervisory experience for a function and or people is preferred.
OTHER QUALIFICATIONS
Extensive commercial credit analysis experience, related banking experience, and/or related credit experience with the ability to read, interpret and analyze business financial statements; excellent verbal, written and communication skills; ability to work as part of a collaborative support team; a strong working knowledge of typical desktop software applications and lending/credit software platforms; intermediate to strong spread sheeting (MS Excel) capabilities with ability to create ad-hoc reports efficiently from general specifications provided. Ability to apply understanding of established policies (Loan, ALLL policies) in order to properly highlight and document exceptions during the review process. Must work well with others across lines, as well as maintain client relationships with a high degree of professionalism and confidentiality.
