AmeriTech Contracting is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Assistant Controller to support the Controller and finance team in managing accounting operations, financial reporting, and internal controls. This role ensures accurate financial data, compliance with regulations, and effective support for corporate and project-level accounting needs. The Assistant Controller provides leadership to accounting staff, helps streamline processes, and contributes to strategic financial decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Assist with the day-to-day management of accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, payroll support, and month-end close
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Prepare accurate financial statements, reports, and reconciliations
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Ensure compliance with GAAP, federal contracting regulations, and company policies
Budgeting & Forecasting Support
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Support the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and financial plans
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Assist with project-level cost tracking and variance analysis
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Provide financial insights to management to support operational decision-making
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Maintain and monitor internal controls, policies, and accounting procedures
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Assist with audits, tax filings, and regulatory compliance
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Ensure accurate documentation for corporate and project-level accounting
Team Leadership & Collaboration
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Supervise and mentor accounting staff as needed
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Review accounting processes to ensure efficiency and accuracy
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Collaborate with operations, project management, and finance teams to support financial integrity
Process Improvement
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Identify opportunities to streamline accounting workflows and reporting
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Implement best practices in accounting procedures and documentation
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Support special financial projects as assigned
Qualifications
Required:
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Bachelor鈥檚 degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Strong knowledge of GAAP, federal contracting regulations (FAR/DFARS), and project-based accounting
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Excel
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
Preferred:
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 CPA certification or progress toward CPA
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Experience in construction, engineering, or federal contracting
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Familiarity with ERP or project management software (Procore, Sage, etc.)
