Press Brake Operator

Westaff is hiring a Press Brake Operator in Wallingford, CT!

Shift: Monday – Friday, 7:00am – 3:30pm

Pay Rate: $22 per hour, based on experience

Essential Duties and Responsibilities of the Press Brake Operator:

• Program, set up, and operate CNC press brakes (experience with Cincinnati brakes and controls is a plus).
• Bending light-gauge stainless steel material to exacting standards.
• Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications.
• Translate blueprint information into accurate machine setups.
• Use calipers, machinist squares, and other precision measuring instruments to verify part accuracy.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Adhere to all safety procedures and regulations.
• Troubleshoot machine malfunctions and perform minor maintenance.
• Inspect finished parts for defects and ensure quality standards are met.

• Prepare materials for forming, including deburring, labeling, and staging.

Press Brake Operator Qualifications:

• Previous experience operating Cincinnati brakes or similar CNC press brakes 
• Ability to read blueprints and use measuring tools accurately.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of machine setup, tooling selection, and program adjustments.
• Commitment to workplace safety, quality, and precision.
• High school diploma or equivalent required; technical or trade training preferred.
