Core Role Details

The Transportation Driver (CNA) supports safe, timely resident transportation to appointments, outings, and facility activities while maintaining comfort, dignity, and safety throughout each trip.

Key responsibilities include:
- Operate facility vehicles and follow the daily transportation schedule with punctuality
- Assist residents with entering/exiting vehicles and ensure secure transport
- Maintain trip documentation per facility procedures and report concerns to appropriate staff
- Keep vehicles clean, safe, and in good working order
- Perform CNA duties as needed when not driving (e.g., vital signs, hygiene support)
- Follow all facility policies and applicable local, state, and federal regulations

Required qualifications/skills:
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid Class C Driver’s License with a clean driving record
- Experience driving patient transport/company vehicles
- Current CNA license; CPR certification (or obtain within 6 months)
- Ability to lift, walk, bend, and provide courteous, patient-centered support

A Typical Shift

Your Monday–Friday schedule runs 8:00am–4:30pm. You start by checking the day’s route details, confirming addresses and timing, and completing a quick vehicle readiness check before the first pickup. Between runs, you coordinate updates with nursing and administrative staff, manage any schedule adjustments, and complete required trip notes. You’ll keep a steady, calm pace during travel, helping residents feel at ease and informed about what’s next. Back at the facility, you reset for the next trip—organizing paperwork, preparing for afternoon appointments, and ensuring the vehicle is ready for the following day.
