Job DetailsJob Location: Meridian , ID 83642SUMMARY OF JOB PURPOSE:  The Yard Assistant supports the Yard Attendant and yard operations team by helping receive, move, organize, load, and unload materials and merchandise. This role assists in maintaining a clean, safe, and efficient yard environment, keeping materials organized, and supporting daily operational needs as directed. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:  (Position may include additional functions not listed.)* Assist the Yard Attendant with loading and unloading materials from trailers, shipping containers, and other delivery vehicles. Help move, organize, and place materials in designated yard, warehouse, or storage locations. Assist with keeping pick areas stocked, clean, and organized. Help with general cleanup and housekeeping in the yard, cap shed, and surrounding work areas. Support shop personnel and installers with loading materials as needed. Assist with counting, sorting, and organizing inventory and merchandise. Help maintain a safe, orderly, and efficient work environment. Follow all company safety procedures and applicable health and safety regulations. Perform physical tasks accurately and efficiently under the direction of the Yard Attendant or supervisor. Assist with other related yard, warehouse, and operations duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS: (Required knowledge, skills, abilities, education, experience, etc.) High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Previous yard, warehouse, material handling, or forklift experience preferred. Ability to read labels, item descriptions, and numbers accurately. Strong teamwork skills. Ability to work independently and accomplish tasks with minimal supervision. Ability to follow instructions and carry out assigned tasks safely and efficiently. Strong sense of responsibility, dependability, and accountability. PHYSICAL & OTHER REQUIREMENTS: (physical, environmental, travel, etc.) Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, and lift throughout the workday. Ability to regularly perform physically demanding work in an outdoor or warehouse environment. Ability to periodically lift and move heavy objects. Ability to safely operate equipment and perform manual labor for extended periods.
