Medical Records / Receptionist

Bluebird Home Health and Hospice is seeking a dependable and friendly Medical Records / Receptionist to join our team. This position supports daily clinical records operations while serving as a welcoming first point of contact for employees, patients, families, vendors, and visitors. The ideal candidate is organized, professional, detail-oriented, and able to balance front desk responsibilities with accurate medical records support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Greet employees, patients, families, vendors, and guests in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Answer incoming phone calls, assist callers, and route calls to the appropriate team member.
  • Maintain and protect clinical records in accordance with company policies and applicable state and federal requirements.
  • Support daily medical records functions, including organizing, filing, retrieving, auditing, and tracking documentation.
  • Monitor outstanding or unsigned physician orders and follow up as needed.
  • Assist with record requests and ensure information is released only to authorized individuals according to policy.
  • Help maintain accurate clinical records systems and support updates or process improvements as needed.
  • Communicate effectively with clinical, administrative, and leadership team members.
  • Maintain confidentiality of patient and organizational information at all times.
  • Perform additional job-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor’s degree preferred.
