Job Overview

Tasting Host Lead is a FOH (front of house) leadership position. They set an example for all staff through their guest-focused service. They strive to exceed our guests' expectations through excellent service, often going above and beyond. Tasting Host Leads are expected to provide prompt, courteous, friendly, and professional service to every guest who visits Vintner's Table. Leads are required to be detailed in every aspect of their work while maintaining a productive and efficient pace. They must maintain calmness and composure in all aspects of their work, no matter what incidences may arise. They are expected to train and retrain all team members on current, new, or modified steps of service and offerings, ensuring that all staff is up to date on current operations.

Duties and Responsibilities

General:

  • Be fluent with all our offerings including food, wine, and beverages
  • Train, coach, and educate new, and existing, team members with all steps of service set forth by management and ownership
  • Troubleshoot and find solutions for problems or issues that may arise during service when a MOD is not available
  • Communicate efficiently with all departments when issues or concerns may arise
  • Ensure that all opening, mid, and closing duties are done correctly
  • Ensure that the FOH and BOH areas are kept clean, presentable, and within the safety and sanitary standards set forth by State Health Department and Vintner's Table
  • Open and close cash register confirming that balances are correct
  • Work alongside hosts in making sure large parties (8 or more) are properly set and that kitchen staff is up to date on all large parties prior to shift
  • Perform and assign weekly deep cleaning duties for team
  • Work alongside MOD in finding solutions for guest complaints or issues
  • Void, Discount, and/or 86 items when permissible
  • Ensure that POS Toast is up to date with current offerings prior to the start of the shift, and update correctly throughout the shift as needed
  • Follow up with management on trainees
  • Open and close the restaurant as needed to fill in gaps with management
  • Continue to work as a kitchen team member, or on the floor, including all associated job duties

Environmental/Physical Requirements

  • Able to work ten-hour-plus shifts, including evenings, weekends and holidays, with extended standing/walking.
  • Capable of lifting materials and/or products up to 50 pounds or more
