Description

 

Background:

Loch Harbour Group is seeking a Solutions Engineer at our HQ located in Fairfax, VA. As a Solutions Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the sales team by leveraging your technical knowledge and attention to detail to develop compelling proposals and responses to Requests for Information (RFIs) and Requests for Proposals (RFPs). Your expertise in information technology and systems engineering, along with strong analytical and communication skills, will be essential in articulating our solutions to potential clients.


Key Responsibilities:

Proposal Development:

  • Develop and format comprehensive responses to RFIs and RFPs.
  • Collaborate with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to gather necessary information and insights.
  • Ensure proposals are tailored to meet client requirements and highlight our strengths.
  • Ensure company responses are compliant with government requirements

Technical Expertise:

  • Understand and stay updated on information technology and systems engineering trends, processes, and frameworks (e.g., ITIL, CMMI, ISO, IEEE).
  • Utilize technical knowledge to accurately represent our products and services.
  • Meticulously follow government instructions

Project Coordination:

  • Schedule and manage deadlines for proposal submissions.
  • Ensure all deliverables are completed on time and meet quality standards.

Documentation and Formatting:

  • Expertly use Microsoft Word to develop and format documents, utilizing advanced features such as Microsoft Styles. 
  • Maintain consistency and professionalism in all written communications.

Analytical Skills:

  • Analyze client requirements and develop strategies to address them effectively.
  • Interpret complex technical information and convey it in a clear and concise manner.

Collaboration:

  • Work closely with sales, marketing, and technical teams to ensure cohesive and comprehensive proposals.
  • Coordinate with SMEs to gather and validate technical content.

Requirements

Minimum Position Requirements

Educational Background:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, English with a minor in Information Technology, or equivalent AND 3 years of experience.

Technical Skills:

  • Strong understanding of information technology and/or systems engineering trends and frameworks.
  •  Proficient in Microsoft Word, with expertise in using Microsoft Styles and formatting functions.

Organizational Skills:

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.

Communication Skills:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to grasp complex concepts and reiterate them clearly within proposals.

Analytical Skills:

  • Strong analytical skills to interpret and respond to client requirements.
  • Ability to develop and coordinate technical content with SMEs.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in a sales engineering or technical writing role.
  • Familiarity with proposal management tools and CRM systems.
  • Certification in relevant technical or process frameworks (e.g., ITIL, CMMI).
