Job Title: Grain Handler

Reports To: Commodities Manager

The Grain Handler is responsible for the receiving in and the loading out of commodities to ensure safety, quality, and productivity while supporting the Company’s policies, goals and objectives.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Grades and unloads corn according to the corn procurement policy
  • Loads out all commodities
  • Ensures grain is available to operations personnel at all times.
  • Performs inventory and quality control
  • Becomes a certified operator of rail mover, forklift, wheel loader, man lift, and skid loader
  • Anticipates and solves problems in a timely manner and identifies opportunities for improvement
  • Participates in project teams that improve efficiency and/or reduce operating costs
  • Maintains plant cleanliness and works in a safe manner at all times
  • Completes any and all tasks assigned by supervisor and/or Plant Manager

Requirements:

  • Legal authorization to work in the US on a full-time basis
  • High school diploma
  • Experience in the operation of an ethanol plant is preferred
  • Ability to work in a cooperative, team-based workplace 
  • Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 60 lbs.
  • Ability to work at elevated heights
  • Ability to work in confined spaces
  • Ability to read, write and understand English
  • Ability to communicate via two-way radio technology
  • Ability to read, write, and understand English
  • Must hold a valid driver’s license

Other Skills/Abilities:

  • Proficiency with basic office computer software (e.g. Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook)
  • Problem-solving skills
