Based out of our Brainard Funeral Home location in Wausau, this full-time Office Manager will oversee daily operations across our Wausau/Merrill area funeral homes, including Brainard, Helke, and Taylor-Stine-Waid. This is a meaningful opportunity to serve as a steady, welcoming presence for families and staff alike, while keeping our teams organized, connected, and running smoothly behind the scenes.

What You'll Do

  • Greet and welcome visitors and answer incoming calls
  • Provide information and direct inquiries to the appropriate staff members
  • Manage daily office operations and maintain clean, organized environments
  • Oversee scheduling, calendars, and coordination across our area locations
  • Handle accounts receivable/payable and basic banking tasks
  • Own the month-end close process for all three locations, ensuring financial records are accurate, complete, and submitted on time each month
  • Reconcile accounts, track expenses, and maintain organized financial documentation that keeps our teams and leadership informed
  • Organize and maintain files, documents, and records
  • Assist with data entry, reporting, and administrative support
  • Manage office supplies and place orders as needed
  • Coordinate internal and external communications on behalf of our locations

  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Highly organized with the ability to multitask and prioritize across multiple locations
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Hands-on experience with month-end accounting close processes, ideally across multiple locations
  • Comfort with accounts receivable/payable, account reconciliation, and financial recordkeeping
