Government Finance Specialist

ARES is supporting NASA in launching the Artemis mission to send astronauts back to the Moon and Mars. We are hiring a financial management analyst to support our contract business management activities at the Kennedy Space Center in Florida. It is an exciting mission supported by an awesome team working side by side with their NASA customers. As a financial analyst you will work within the KLXS Program Office, executing the duties of the KLXS contract by providing financial and contractual support. This role requires excellent skills in teamwork, organization, initiative, planning, and execution. 

Responsibilities include performing business functions such as financial and business analysis, project control, and PMO administration in support of contract management. Scope supports the Program Manager in implementing the business function as it relates to planning, staffing, executing, monitoring, and controlling throughout the contract lifecycle. The successful candidate will learn, and become proficient in, the entire contract management business function, and serve as a backup to the Business Manager should he be unavailable.

This is an onsite job at the Kennedy Space Center in Florida.

Minimum Requirements:

• Very strong Excel skills: pivot tables, formulas, reporting, graphing.
• Ability to work with financial software and quickly pick up new financial data base software.
• Experience with financial reporting and financial analysis, preferably in government contracting.
• Experience with project management practices, including planning, staffing, executing, monitoring, and controlling.
• Experience with labor categories and resource allocation as they relate to contracts and task orders.
• Strong communication skills amongst groups of interested stakeholders including managers and customers.
• Ability to execute a variety of functions simultaneously, demonstrating strong multi-tasking abilities.

 Preferred Qualifications:

• Proficiency with Power BI

Education and Relevant Work Experience:

• BS in business related discipline with 3 years experience in areas such as management analysis, financial analysis, budget preparation and analysis, cost/schedule analysis, business process reengineering.
