ASRC Federal is seeking a ORION Electrical Manufacturing Engineer/Odd Work Week at Kennedy Space Center, FL. 

Role/Responsibilities:

  • Plans and authors procedures for the Orion Spacecraft elements and provides floor support for a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Performs various duties including creating and/or developing harness installation, and component integration, manufacturing work instructions.
  • Determines the sequence of build, selecting or designing required tools, and solves production problems during the build of mechanical/electrical piece parts and assemblies.
  • Assists in investigating design/manufacturing factors such as equipment or part availability, manufacturability, ease of assembly, and large assembly management.
  • Develops and maintains all assembly documentation.
  • Trouble shoot/correct anomalies and discrepant hardware.
  • Performs producibility reviews on engineering designs/drawings to assess manufacturability, ease of assembly, and material availability.
  • Routinely interfaces with program personnel and reports project status to leadership.
  • Primarily support an odd work week schedule (Wednesday-Sunday, 8hrs/day) during 1st shift operations (approx. 6am-2:30pm).

 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering and 2-4 years of experience/or equivalent experience/combined education.
  • Knowledge of production manufacturing and assembly processes.
  • Experience with Engineering Change Management.
  • Experience in evaluating and dispositioning non-conformant hardware.
  • Minimum 1 year experience demonstrating use of SAP or similar ERP/MES software for generating manufacturing work instructions, routings, product structure, and manufacturing bill of materials (MBOM).
  • Experience with harness assembly, instrumentations, and electrical components (hardware) installations.
  • Experience reviewing engineering drawings as well as providing technical support to the production floor.
  • Experience and understanding of configuration management practices and databases such as Windchill, EPDM, or similar.
  • Experience with CAD/CAM software such as Creo Parametric, CreoView, EdgeCAM, Delmia or similar.
  • Good verbal and written communication including technical writing. Ability to read, analyze and interpret various technical procedures and reports. Ability to write reports and keep accurate documentation.
  • Advanced Skills in the Microsoft Office software suite.
  • Position is permanently located at KSC, FL. Ability to travel as necessary.
  • Availability to adjust their schedule accordingly to support off-nominal activities if needed.
