Duties and Responsibilities:Â
- Fabrication & Repair: Build, assemble, and repair orthotic and prosthetic devices according to specifications and clinical direction.
- Customization: Modify and adjust braces and orthotics to ensure proper fit and function for individual patients.
- Operate Production Equipment: Run and monitor machines and tools used in the fabrication process, including saws, drills, heat guns, and sanders.
- Quality Inspection: Conduct checks on devices and components to ensure workmanship and functionality meet required standards.
- Material Handling: Understand and work with various materials such as plastics, foams, carbon fiber, and metals used in medical devices.
- Collaboration: Communicate and work closely with clinicians and team members to meet patient needs and resolve production challenges.
- Record Keeping: Complete production logs and quality forms accurately and on time.
- Maintenance & Clean-Up: Perform regular equipment maintenance, workspace organization, and general clean-up duties.
- Follow Safety Procedures: Adhere to OSHA safety guidelines, wear PPE, and help maintain a safe work environment.
Requirements and Qualifications:Â
- Previous manufacturing or fabrication experience is a plus but not required.
- Good hand-eye coordination and attention to detail.
- Comfortable using hand tools, power tools, and measuring equipment.
- Ability to stand, bend, lift up to 40 lbs., and perform repetitive tasks for extended periods.
- Basic math and measurement skills.
- Ability to read and follow work instructions in English and safety guidelines.
Education and Experience:Â This is an entry-level position with full training provided. Â

- Willingness to learn, take direction, and grow within the role.
- Dependable attendance and punctuality
Working conditions:Â
- Work is performed inside a manufacturing facility that may include production floors, warehouses, and mechanical areas.
- Employees may be exposed to noise, moving machinery, dust fumes, and varying temperatures. Hearing protection, respirators, or other PPE may be required depending on the task.Â
- Employees must follow all OSHA and company safety rules.Â
Physical Demands:
- Standing: Required for up to 6–8 hours per shift while operating machinery or working at benches.
- Walking: Frequent movement throughout the production area, including between workstations, equipment, and storage locations.
- Lifting/Carrying: Regularly required to lift and carry materials weighing up to 30 lbs., including tools, plastic components, and leather materials.
- Work may involve exposure to lubricants, solvents, cleaning chemicals, and other industrial materials. Â
