Job Summary

Ā 

Ā The Lead Patient Care Technician (PCT) is a member of the multi-disciplinary treatment team that provides direct care to behavioral health patients as well as oversight and support to the PCTs assigned to their shift. The Lead PCT coordinates with the Registered Nurses (RN), Patient Care Technicians (PCT), and Behavioral Health Medical Practitioners (BHMP) to ensure a safe environment and quality care is provided to all presenting for services. The Lead PCT is also responsible for the safety and operational effectiveness of the unit they are assigned to, including identifying environmental and patient specific safety concerns, directing staff during non-violent physical interventions and seclusion and restraint episodes and providing direct patient care when needed. The Lead PCT is expected to have full knowledge of program policy and procedures.

Skills/Requirements

Ā 

  • Highschool diploma or GED required. Associate degree or higher preferred.
  • One (1) or more years of health care related experience where his or her prior experience would provide adequate exposure to both behavioral and medical crisis situations required.
  • Emergency Medical Technician certification (valid within the state of Arizona) is preferred but not required for this position.
  • Certified Nurse Assistant certification (current and valid within the State of Arizona) is preferred but not required of this position.
  • Valid identification required.
