The Plumber IV uses practical knowledge to complete moderately complex projects and assignments within the Plumbing family. Helps train or mentor less experienced employees. Works under general direction.

  • Own test instrument calibration and control (gauges, manometers, test pumps, press tools); schedule, verify, and quarantine out‑of‑tolerance tools.
  • Develop and maintain kitting standards for common tasks (heater/pump service kits, valve rebuilds, press/PEX adapters).
  • Perform advanced parts identification/interchange; maintain cross‑brand equivalency lists and adapter charts.
  • Run water quality and disinfection support—collect samples, manage disinfectant dosage logs, and track results.
  • Build diagnostic evidence packets—pressure charts, flow logs, camera images—and attach to CMMS records.
  • Manage shop equipment readiness—threaders, press tools, test pumps—coordinate PM and repairs.
  • Create visual work instructions for isolation, drain‑down, joining prep, and test sequences; train S1–S3 staff.
  • Coordinate temporary bypass piping and staging for shutdowns.
  • Audit parts crib accuracy—bin counts, adapter availability, consumables—and correct discrepancies.
  • Support complex jobs by staging fixtures, valves, and special tools in sequence.
