Overview

The Resident Services Coordinator is responsible for the coordination and supervision of caregiving services for Independent Living residents. This role ensures high‑quality, person‑centered support through effective caregiver management, scheduling, compliance, and communication. The coordinator serves as a key liaison among residents, families, caregivers, and leadership to promote resident safety, dignity, and well‑being.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with Recruiting, hiring, supervision, coaching, and termination of caregivers to ensure quality support services for Independent Living residents.
  • Develop and manage daily caregiver work assignments and prepare posted schedules at least two (2) weeks in advance.
  • Prepare, review, and approve caregiver timesheets, PTO/PSL requests, and overtime.
  • Communicate and escalate resident concerns, reports of abuse or neglect, medication errors, and incident reports to the Executive Director in a timely manner.
  • Read, understand, and discuss individual resident service plans and coordinate services on both scheduled and on‑call basis.
  • Observe, document, and report verbally and in writing on resident abilities and any changes in service needs.
  • Maintain effective communication with residents, families, and staff, including speaking before small groups as needed.
  • Assist other departments as necessary to maintain a safe working environment, including reporting safety hazards to Security and/or the Facilities Director.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, confidentiality standards, and applicable regulations.
  • Maintain clean, neat, and organized work areas and promote a professional, respectful environment.
  • Demonstrate flexibility, professionalism, and a willingness to adapt to changing operational needs.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in Assisted Living, Independent Living, Memory Care, or similar senior living setting required.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of supervisory or managerial experience required.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with older adults, families, and staff.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Ability to read, comprehend, and follow written instructions, procedures, and company policies.
  • Current CPR and First Aid certification required (or ability to obtain upon hire).

Physical & Work Requirements

  • Ability to lift, bend, stretch, squat, stand, and perform other physical movements related to resident care and oversight.
  • Manual dexterity sufficient to perform care‑related activities as needed.
  • Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment with frequent interruptions.
  • Must present a professional appearance and demeanor at all times.
