Are you a passionate Special Education Teacher ready to empower students and schools? Here’s what you’ll need to join our team:Â
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Special Education, Education, or a related field.Â
Certification:Â Valid Texas Educator Certification in Special Education (EC-12) through the Texas Education Agency (TEA).Â
Additional Requirements:Â Knowledge of special education laws, including the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA), and familiarity with the Admission, Review, and Dismissal (ARD) process. CPR certification is preferred.Â
Language Proficiency:Â Bilingual skills preferred but not required.Â
Your Role:
As a Special Education Teacher, you’ll play a crucial role in supporting students with diverse needs and helping them achieve their educational goals. Your responsibilities will include:Â
Develop Individualized Plans:Â Collaborate with the ARD committee to create and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to the unique needs of each student.Â
Deliver Specialized Instruction: Provide differentiated instruction in various settings, including inclusion classrooms and resource rooms, to meet students’ academic, social, and behavioral needs.Â
Monitor Progress:Â Collect and analyze data to track student progress, ensuring that instructional strategies and interventions are effective in meeting IEP goals.Â
Collaborate with Teams: Work closely with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, related service providers, and families to support students’ success. Actively participate in ARD meetings and multidisciplinary team discussions.Â
Promote Positive Behavior:Â Implement behavior intervention plans (BIPs) and classroom management strategies that foster a safe and inclusive learning environment.Â
Support Students’ Growth: Address students’ academic, social, and emotional needs through individualized support, accommodations, and modifications.Â
