Assists in developing environmentally sensitive landscape architectural designs and provides support to the landscape development and establishment of projects. Assists in the management of statewide landscape programs and acts as liaison for coordinating landscape programs with public or private organizations, consultants, districts or divisions. Work requires contact with the governmental officials and private entities. Employees at this level perform assignments following specific instructions and are subject to frequent review by the immediate supervisor.
Essential Duties for a Trans Landscape Arch Assistant I and II:
Assists in coordinating landscape projects with consultants or universities.
Assists in developing and reviewing plans, specifications, estimates and special provisions pertaining to landscape projects or landscape items as related to roadway projects.
Performs other job responsibilities as assigned.
Additional Duties for a Trans Landscape Arch Assistant II:
Contributes to the coordination of landscape plan development with consultants, local and state officials and the public.
Evaluates new products and methods related to landscape projects.
Reviews, evaluates and develops requests for public participation in landscape programs.
Minimum Qualifications for a Trans Landscape Arch Assistant I:
Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Landscape Architecture.

Minimum Qualifications for a Trans Landscape Arch Assistant II:
Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Landscape Architecture.
Experience:Â
1 YEAR Experience as a landscape architect assistant or equivalent under the oversight of a RLA,RA or LPE
(Experience can be satisfied by fulltime or prorated parttime equivalent)
Related college education or relevant technical training may be substituted for experience on a year per year basis. Substitutions for Minimum Qualifications
Licenses and Certifications:
Valid driver’s license. This position requires driving a state vehicle.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions for a Trans Landscape Arch Assistant I and II:
Required to wear protective gear-respirator, hard hat, or other device
Light work: Lift up to 20 lbs at a time and frequently lift or carry objects up to 10 lbs
Talking-expressing or exchanging ideas by spoken words
Walking-moving on foot to accomplish tasks: long distance/from one work site to another
Hearing-perceive sound at normal speaking levels; receive information by oral communication
Close Visual Acuity-work includes data/figures; view a computer screen; extensive reading
