Responsibilities:Â
- Supervises and coordinates a production shiftÂ
- Monitors and responds to daily product and process concernsÂ
- Assists in the troubleshooting of technical problemsÂ
- Ensures employees are trained and qualified prior to working on machinery and equipmentÂ
- Provides leadership by instilling team goals and objectives while fostering positive staff relationshipsÂ
- Coordinates with operational departments to achieve company goalsÂ
- Communicates results and issues to shift staffÂ
- Ensures compliance with company policies and proceduresÂ
- Set daily/weekly/monthly objectives and communicate them to employeesÂ
- Submit reports on performance and progressÂ
- Identify issues in efficiency and suggest improvementsÂ
- Enforce strict safety guidelines and company standardsÂ
- Set goals for performance and deadlines in ways that comply with company’s plans and vision and communicate them to subordinatesÂ
- Organize workflow and ensure that employees understand their duties or delegated tasksÂ
- Monitor employee productivity and provide constructive feedback and coachingÂ
- Completes other duties and projects as assignedÂ
Qualifications and Experience:Â
- 5 - 7 years of progressive supervisory experience in a manufacturing environmentÂ
- Experience with applications of Lean Manufacturing philosophies, TPM, or Six SigmaÂ
- Effective communication skills with individuals at all levels of the organizationÂ
- Able to work on continental shiftÂ
- Able to deal with people sensitively, tactfully, confidentially, diplomatically, and professionally always.Â
- Excellent time and project management skillsÂ
- Attention to detail in all areas of workÂ
- Strong analytical skillsÂ
- Proven experience as supervisor or relevant roleÂ
- Ability to learn a variety of job descriptions.Â
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skillsÂ
- Outstanding organizational and leadership skillsÂ
- Good knowledge of MS OfficeÂ
- Self-motivated with a results-driven approachÂ
- Problem-solving skillsÂ
- High School Diploma, Degree in a technical, engineering, or relevant field will be an advantage.Â
- Mandarin an asset.Â
Health & SafetyÂ
- To Participate in the Company’s Health & Safety, Housekeeping and Environmental programsÂ
- Ensure all internal safety policies and legislation are followed as part of Due DiligenceÂ
- Monitor any injuries, and complete paperwork as required.Â
- Participate in workplace inspections on monthly basis as required.Â
- Attend all safety training as required.Â
- Must have working knowledge of all safety legislation and follow all health and safety policies.Â
Ensure all employees follow company’s health and safety policies and procedures and report all violations.Â
