JOB OVERVIEW

The Cook plays a vital role within Faena’s world-class culinary team, responsible for executing dishes to the highest standards of quality, presentation, and flavor. Working under the guidance of the Sous Chef, this position ensures that all menu items reflect Faena’s unique artistic vision and Forbes Five-Star standards. The Cookdemonstrates precision, consistency, and creativity in every task, contributing to the overall success of the kitchen brigade.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES


Culinary Execution

  • Prepares, cooks, andplatesdishes according to Faena’s recipes, presentation standards, and service timing.
  • Ensures all miseenplace is properly prepared, labeled, and stored before each service.
  • Maintains consistency and excellence in all dishes while adapting to seasonal menus and daily specials.
  • Upholds the highest standards of food quality, taste, and visual presentation in alignment with the Faena brand.
  • Assistsin menu tastings, banquets, andspecial eventsas needed.

Operational Excellence

  • Maintain cleanliness, organization, and sanitation of assigned work areas and kitchen equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and hygiene regulations.
  • Report equipment malfunctions and food quality issues promptly to the SousChef.
  • Control waste and ensureoptimaluse of ingredients and resources.
  • Adhere to daily prep lists and stationchecklists to guarantee readiness for service.

Team Collaboration & Development

  • Work collaboratively with fellowchefs, stewards, and front-of-house teams to ensure seamless service.
  • Support new team members through training, coaching, and adherence to standard operating procedures.
  • Participate actively in daily briefings and contribute to a positive, respectful kitchen culture.
  • Demonstrate Faena’s core values of teamwork, creativity, and passion in all interactions.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum 2–3 years of experience in a luxury hotel or fine-dining restaurant.
  • Culinary degree or equivalent hands-on experience preferred.
  • Solid understanding of kitchen operations, safety standards, and classic cooking techniques. 
  • Ability to manage time efficiently and multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to excellence.
  • Food Handler orServSafecertification preferred.
