As a Gensler Interior Designer, you are passionate about your craft and combine creativity and technical knowledge with business skills and understanding to produce functionally beautiful spaces for our clients. You have conceptual and technical delivery/documentation design skills for interior architecture and interior design projects,and you have a portfolioshowcasing your innovative designs. A focus for this role will be designing Hospitalityinteriors.Ā Ā

You are an integral member of the design team who itches to contribute a point of view and craves participation in all phases of our projects from conceptual thought process and design exploration through construction administration. With you as part of our team, interiors have never been so engaging.Ā 
Ā 

What You Will DoĀ 

  • Visioning and programming for interior design projects, space planning, conceptual design, schematic design, design development, construction documentation, shop drawing reviews, code compliance, and construction administrationĀ 

  • Select and document furniture, fabrics, equipment (FF&E), color palettes, and decorative lightingĀ Ā 

  • Generate finish plans, RCPs, lighting plans, specifications, material selections, and millwork drawings and detailsĀ Ā 

  • Provide design leadership and documentation during project executionĀ Ā 

  • Coordinate with external consultants, product representatives, furniture dealers, and fabricatorsĀ 

  • Integrate new technology and tools on projects (AR, VR, computational design, etc.)Ā 

  • Support design presentations and develop effective client relationships as trusted advisorĀ 

  • Support marketing and business development efforts as neededĀ 

  • Guide and mentor teammatesĀ 

  • QA/QC specifications and construction document setsĀ Ā 

  • Strive to elevate design quality on every project, and foster and cultivate a culture of design in the officeĀ 

Ā 
Your QualificationsĀ 

  • Bachelor's degree in Interior Design or Interior ArchitectureĀ 

  • 6-10 years of interior design experience, inclusive of at least 4 recent years for Hospitality (hotel lobbies, hotel rooms, hotel amenity spaces) projectsĀ 

  • Proficient in Revit, SketchUp, 3D Studio Max and other modeling software programs

  • Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite applications (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign)Ā 

  • NCIDQ/CID certification (or in process)Ā 

  • Demonstrated commitment to sustainability and sustainable building practices; Ideally portfolios will include at least one project (especially built projects with LEED, Living Building Challenge, WELL Building Standard, Fitwel, and/or Net Zero Building certification) with this particular focusĀ 

Proficiency with:Ā Ā 

  • Selection of furniture, finishes, materials, color selections, and specificationsĀ 

  • Interior construction documentsĀ Ā 

  • Applicable codes and safety considerationsĀ 

  • Strong storytelling ability, both verbal and written, that conveys purpose and impactĀ 

  • Strong graphics and visualization skills to effectively communicate design ideasĀ 

  • NCIDQ/CID certification (or in process)Ā 

  • Demonstrated commitment to sustainability and sustainable building practices; Ideally portfolios will include at least one project (especially built projects with LEED, Living Building Challenge, WELL Building Standard, Fitwel, and/or Net Zero Building certification) with this particular focusĀ
