SUMMARY:Â
 The Food Service Assistant provides support in areas such as production, safety, sanitation, customer service, catered events and other aspects as needed. |
Â
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Prepare and serve daily meals in accordance with the menu. This also includes preparing and the set up/break down of on-site events. Â Â
- Provide exceptional & timely customer service to all individuals that enter the food service area. Â Â Â Â Â
- Develop constructive and cooperative working relationships among staff, residents and community volunteers.
- Quality food production within the HACCP program to maintain food safety. Establish a safe & sanitary work environment. Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â

QUALIFICATIONS:
- At least 6 months of cooking experience preferred.Â
- 1+ year experience working with large groups of people.Â
- Experience with non-profit organizations recommended. Â Â
- G.E.D or High School Diploma or equivalent experience.Â

- U.S labor and health laws, mass quantity cookingÂ
- Cooking, Baking.
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities, with a sense of urgency
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Experience working with vulnerable populations.
- Ability to be professional, flexible, respectful, and calm.Â
- Ability to work well with others.Â
- Ability to lead by example. Â
- Bilingual in English and Spanish and/or English and Creole preferred.
