Assistant General Manager (Wellness)

Position Summary

The Assistant General Manager (AGM) supports the overall operations of a wellness facility by ensuring smooth daily operations, maintaining compliance with policies and safety standards, supporting staff management, and delivering an exceptional patient and customer experience.

This role works closely with Director of Operations to maintain operational excellence, financial accountability, and a positive work environment.

This is a direct hire position, Royalty Medical Solutions is the search firm.

Key Responsibilities

Operational Leadership

  • Lead and support daily operational activities of the healthcare facility.

  • Conduct daily team huddles when senior leadership is unavailable to set expectations and communicate priorities.

  • Ensure efficient workflow throughout the facility, including coordination between front-of-house and back-of-house operations.

  • Support facility presentation, organization, and maintenance to ensure a professional and welcoming environment.

  • Monitor operational performance and address issues quickly to maintain service quality.

Staff Support & Team Management

  • Support the supervision and coordination of staff including nurses, and administrative personnel.

  • Educate team members on company policies, procedures, and operational standards.

  • Provide performance feedback, coaching, and support team accountability.

  • Encourage professional development and continued education for team members.

  • Promote a culture of professionalism, teamwork, and service excellence.

Compliance, Safety & Policy Management

  • Ensure compliance with applicable healthcare regulations, labor laws, and safety standards.

  • Implement policies related to labor management, meal and rest breaks, and workplace safety.

  • Maintain awareness of evolving legal and regulatory requirements.

  • Respond appropriately to emergency situations including medical incidents, safety events, or facility emergencies.

Customer & Patient Experience

  • Foster a positive, patient-centered environment.

  • Ensure concerns or service issues are addressed promptly and professionally.

  • Build strong relationships with patients, providers, and community stakeholders.

Strategic Support

  • Collaborate with leadership on operational improvements and strategic initiatives.

  • Support local business development initiatives and community engagement efforts.

  • Assist leadership in executing company goals and operational plans.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Ensure productive use of team downtime and maintain operational readiness.

  • Maintain facility standards for cleanliness, organization, and functionality.

  • Perform additional duties and operational tasks as needed.



Requirements

What You’ll Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).

  • 3+ years of experience in healthcare or hospitality management, preferably within a clinical or patient-facing environment.

  • Proven ability to lead, support, and manage a multidisciplinary healthcare team.

  • Strong financial management skills, including experience with budgeting, forecasting, and operational cost management.

  • Solid understanding of healthcare regulations, compliance requirements, and industry standards.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build strong relationships with patients, healthcare providers, staff, and community stakeholders.

  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities.

  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.

  • Self-motivated with strong initiative and a proactive approach to problem solving.

  • Ability to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve operational, staff, and customer service challenges.

  • Professional demeanor with the ability to work effectively with peers, supervisors, patients, and physicians.

  • Exceptional customer service skills with a patient-centered mindset.

  • Strong command of the English language, both verbal and written.

  • Outgoing and approachable personality with a commitment to creating a welcoming environment.

  • Ability to identify operational issues proactively and implement solutions before they escalate.

  • Comfortable working with technology, operational systems, and digital tools in a healthcare environment.
