CORE JOB FUNCTIONS


1. Performs tests on routine and complex samples using LC-MS/MS, GC-MS, HS-GC-FID, and GC-MS/MS instrumentation and SPE and LLE sample preparation techniques.

2. Reviews patient sample results and all QC results.

3. Analyzes patient samples to detect and quantify drugs, narcotics, poisons, or other controlled substances using instrumental chemical techniques, including (but now limited to) gas and liquid chromatography and mass spectrometry.

4. Utilizes software platforms such as ChemStation® and MassHunter® to operate instruments, and Sunquest, UChart, and Microsoft Office.

5. Performs routine maintenance on instrumentation and equipment.

6. Assists with laboratory quality assurance and quality control functions, including QC tracking and routine laboratory duties.

7. Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.

Education:
Associate degree in relevant field required


Certification and Licensing:
Vaild State of Florida Clinical Laboratory Personnel license required Refer to department description for applicable certification requirements
