SUMMARY:Ā 

TheĀ Custodian SupervisorĀ is responsible for the direct supervision and coordination of custodial staff and cleaning operations at the assigned center. This position ensures that all custodial services, maintenance tasks, and vendor relationships are managed efficiently while maintaining a safe, clean, and secure environment. TheĀ Custodian SupervisorĀ oversees staff scheduling, workload prioritization, training, and performance management while also coordinating with third-party vendors for cleaning and maintenance services. This position requires flexibility, leadership, and 24-hour on-call availability for emergencies.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Directly supervises custodial staff, providing performance evaluations and making recommendations for disciplinary action when necessary.
  • Has decision-making authority over custodial staff scheduling, workload prioritization, and task delegation to ensure proper coverage and efficiency.
  • Oversees training and development programs for custodial employees, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and best practices.
  • Ensures all custodial team members adhere to OSHA safety standards, sanitation protocols, and facility guidelines.
  • Conducts regular inspections of facility cleanliness and ensures all custodial work is completed to high standards.
  • Ensures all cleaning work assignments are completed in an efficient and cost-effective manner.
  • Maintains an organized inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment, tracking usage and reporting supply needs.
  • Determines supply needs and authorizes purchases within pre-approved budget limits.
  • Responds promptly to facility cleanliness concerns and implements solutions for maintaining a well-kept environment.
  • Manages relationships with third-party cleaning and maintenance vendors, ensuring contractual obligations are met and service quality is maintained.
  • Evaluates vendor performance and provides input to the Director of Facilities on contract renewals and vendor selection.
  • Ensures vendor compliance with safety, security, and performance standards.
  • Ensures that custodial work aligns with organizational goals for health, safety, and overall facility maintenance.
  • Assists in minor improvement projects and repairs, coordinating with the Director of Facilities as needed.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by management.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • G.E.D or High School Diploma or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of one (1) year of experience in maintenance supervision.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Knowledge of OSHA regulations, custodial best practices, and maintenance safety standards.
  • Experience managing vendor contracts and supply procurement.
  • Ability to evaluate vendor performance and ensure compliance with service agreements.
  • Strong conflict resolution and leadership skills to manage staff effectively.
  • Excellent customer service skills to address cleanliness concerns from residents, staff, and guests.
  • Ability to be professional, flexible, respectful, and calm under pressure.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills to prioritize and delegate work effectively.
  • Must have a Florida State Driver’s License with a ā€œsafe driverā€ classification.
  • Computer literacy required (Outlook, MS Word, Excel preferred).
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish and/or English and Creole preferred.
