The Mid-Market Account ManagerĀ is responsible forĀ managing an assigned book of business while developing long-term relationships with clients. This position will alsoĀ be responsible forĀ responding to the day-to-day client inquiries and any client analytics needed. The Account Manager willĀ interface withĀ vendors and key clients internally and externally, create client deliverables, and ensure quality standards are met.Ā Ā 

The Account Manager performs these essential functions of the position while meeting RSC quality and service standards. The Account Manager has a smaller book of business with less complex clients andĀ assistsĀ the Team Leader and Account Executive(s) with their clients. The Account ManagerĀ is responsible forĀ revenue growth – client expansion – onĀ their personal book of business. The qualified candidate must have strong knowledge across the spectrum of employer-sponsored health & welfare related plans, including federal and state regulations thatĀ impactĀ these plans.Ā

How You Will Contribute:   

  • Subject matter expert on Health & Welfare Benefits, vendor/carrier products and services including, but not limited to, medical, dental, vision, life, disability, and voluntary.Ā 

  • Manage a personal book of business of approximately $500,000+.Ā 

  • Support Team Leader and/or Account Executive(s),Ā as assigned.Ā 

  • Proactively provide client service in response to day-to-day service issues and questions; escalate, as necessary.Ā 

  • Actively seek improvements to client service and efficiencies within teams byĀ identifyingĀ improved processes.Ā 

  • Works with the client team to develop project plans and deliver on service goals.Ā 

  • Sets priorities and manages workflow to ensure efficient,Ā timelyĀ andĀ accurateĀ processing of account transactions.Ā 

  • Prepare renewals and RFPs, coordinate vendor responses, support negotiations, analyze and spreadsheet proposal results, and develop client presentations.Ā 

  • Delegate administrative and analytic tasks, asĀ necessitated, to team Benefit Analyst; provide coaching and peer review, e.g., Forms 5500, policy review, monthly carrier reporting, etc.Ā 

  • Keeps informedĀ regardingĀ industry information, new product information, legislation,Ā coverageĀ and technology to continuously improve knowledge and performance.Ā 

  • Prepare for andĀ facilitateĀ client meetings (prepare agendas and materials, coordinate resources, etc.)Ā 

Ā 

Licenses & Certifications:   

  •  Life, Accident and Health Insurance LicenseĀ required.Ā 

  • GBA or CEBS CertificationĀ a plus.Ā 

Ā 

Skills & Experience to be Successful:  

  •  BA/BS (Preferred).Ā 

  • 2 - 5+ years of health & welfare experience, meets majority of core practice competency-based skills.Ā 

  • Client-facing experience in the employee benefit industryĀ a plus.Ā 

  • Knowledge of benefits administration, HealthCare Reform, industry trends, carrierĀ productsĀ and services.Ā 

  • Ability to work independently andĀ learningĀ toĀ anticipateĀ client and team needs.Ā 

  • Effective time management.Ā 

  • Diligent follow up skills.Ā 

  • Ability to express ideas clearly in both written and oral communications.Ā 

  • Critical thinking skills.Ā 

  • Detail-oriented.Ā 

  • Strong Microsoft Excel,Ā WordĀ and PowerPoint skills.
