The GSE SupervisorĀ is responsible forĀ providing and supervising maintenance support for aviation ground service equipment.Ā

Job Responsibilities:Ā 

  • Provide prompt response to equipment service requests, including, but not limitedĀ toĀ servicing vehicles & belt loaders (unleaded, diesel, and propane engines), lavatory service trucks, air conditioner carts, ground power units, and more.Ā 

  • UnderstandingĀ Preventative Maintenance Programs and required documentation.Ā 

  • Complete equipment repairs through a disciplined work schedule.Ā 

  • Comply withĀ established company safety policies and procedures.Ā 

  • Understanding of applicable CompanyĀ purchasingĀ policiesĀ toĀ receive parts.Ā 

  • Ensure the security of supplies and equipment.Ā 

  • Ability to work withinĀ the localĀ station maintenance budget.Ā 

  • ExhibitĀ good communicationĀ skills.Ā 

  • Be self-motivated and able to work independently.Ā 

  • Conduct audits to ensure regulatory compliance related to GSE maintenance within the region.Ā 

  • Set up equipment shipments andĀ monitorĀ deliveries.Ā

  • Report any hazards, near misses, incidents, accidents, or dangerous occurrences to their manager / supervisor, who will then follow the procedures contained in company and carrier Safety and Security procedures.  

  • Carry out workĀ in accordance withĀ information and training provided and any specific health, wellbeing, safety, and security rules or procedures.Ā 

  • Fully understand AGI Health & Safety and Security policies.  

  • Attend training courses as may be required by AGI.Ā

Physical Requirements:Ā 

  • Must be able toĀ lift upĀ to 32kg.Ā 

  • Must be able to lift heavy objects overhead for extended periods of time.Ā 

  • Must be able to stand, lift, bend, push and pull for extended periods of time.Ā 

  • Must be willing to work outside in all types of weather and elevated noise levels within the airport environment.Ā 

MinimumĀ Requirements:Ā 

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.Ā 

  • MustĀ possessĀ a provincialĀ technician license.Ā 

  • MustĀ possessĀ an adequate set of mechanical tools.Ā 

  • MustĀ possessĀ a valid driver’s license and provide a clean driver’s abstract.Ā 

  • MustĀ possessĀ a High School Diploma or GED.Ā 

  • Must be able to obtain airport security clearance which includes an extensive check of your last 10 years of employment, criminal record, and residence history.Ā 

Ā 

Qualifications:Ā 

  • Two to threeĀ years' experienceĀ in general automotive and heavy equipment maintenance to include supervisory experience.Ā 

  • PreviousĀ supervisor experience is a plus.Ā 

  • Demonstrated leadership skills in the workplaceĀ areĀ required.Ā 

  • The abilityĀ to communicate with customers and fellow employees and serve as a team player under all types of conditions isĀ required.Ā 

  • Computer skillsĀ areĀ required.Ā 

  • Must be flexible to work various shifts, weekends, or irregular shifts.Ā 

  • If work location is in the United States, must have authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986. If work location is in Canada, must have authorization to work in Canada as defined by the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act (IRPA) of 2001.Ā
