About the Role:

The Maintenance Mechanic I plays a critical role in ensuring the continuous and efficient operation of manufacturing and production equipment within the facility. This position involves performing skilled mechanical maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair tasks to minimize downtime and maintain safety standards. The Maintenance Mechanic I will work closely with the maintenance team to identify potential issues before they escalate, contributing to the overall reliability of machinery and equipment. This role requires a proactive approach to maintenance, including routine inspections and preventive maintenance activities. Ultimately, the Maintenance Mechanic I helps sustain operational excellence by maintaining equipment in optimal condition and supporting production goals.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting mechanical drawings, schematics, and manuals.
  • Ability to use hand and power tools safely and effectively.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical systems including hydraulics, pneumatics, and basic electrical components.

Responsibilities:

  • Ability to perform routine maintenance and repairs, such as, plumbing, electrical, painting, patching, carpentry, etc.
  • Broad knowledge of the use of hand tools, power tools, ladders, machinery such as pressure washers, compressors, etc.
  • Able to function in inclement weather, hazardous conditions, and know how to work safely under these conditions.
  • Performs one or more skilled tasks in different areas, such as carpentry, electrical, flooring, masonry, plumbing, etc.
  • Must be acquainted with all emergency operating procedures and demonstrate the ability to operate all hospital systems in emergency conditions.
