MHT (Full-Time)

About the Role:

The Mental Health Technician (MHT) in a full-time capacity at Larkin Community Hospital plays a critical role in supporting the mental health care team by providing direct patient care and ensuring a safe and therapeutic environment. This position involves working closely with patients experiencing a range of psychiatric conditions, assisting with daily activities, monitoring patient behavior, and reporting changes to clinical staff.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Ability to pass background checks and drug screening as required by the hospital.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Crisis and Intervention Training required
• Must pass in-house MHT test

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous experience working in an inpatient psychiatric or behavioral health facility.
• Additional certifications related to mental health care or crisis intervention.
• Bilingual language skills relevant to the patient population served.
