Citi Bank Retail Mortgage provides home lending services via our Citibank branches and centralized service centers. The Home Lending Officer role represents the Retail Mortgage business providing superior service to clients and referral partners and is responsible for originating high quality residential real estate loans for clients. This highly interactive role engages internally with retail branch partners, operations, community business development officers. This role drives mortgage sales and client relationships through engagement with clients, real estate agents, and other area referrers. Responsibilities include consulting with customers about their financial situation, objectives, and lending needs; collecting and analyzing financial information; making lending recommendations; advising on risks and benefits; promoting Citi's brand and services; visiting customers; working as a team with internal partners; referring customers to other Citi professionals; partnering with Operations for loan processing; working with Processors/Closers to ensure timely loan closing; driving mortgage business through referral relationships; introducing clients to segment partners; keeping abreast of market trends and regulations; and assessing risk to safeguard Citigroup and clients. Qualifications include 2-5 years relevant experience, 3+ years mortgage sales experience, residential mortgage experience, established book of business, proven product sales capability, FHA/VA & conventional loan experience preferred, ability to explain financial calculations, knowledge of lending laws and regulations, customer service skills, relationship management skills, and expertise in lending products and mortgage industry. The position requires registration as a mortgage loan originator with the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System and Registry. Education required is a Bachelor’s/University degree or equivalent experience.
