Operations Specialist Overview:
The Operations Specialist supports the day to day operations of the Cobre Valley Recreation Center and ensures an exceptional experience for members and guests. This role oversees inventory control, membership management, front desk supervision, marketing and communications, administrative workflows, scheduling, customer service, and facility standards.


Duties/Responsibilities:


Front Desk and Member Services:
- Oversee front desk staff including providing directives on daily assignments, training, coaching, and coverage planning
- Ensure outstanding customer service at check in, point of sale, and member inquiries
- Manage membership processes including signups, renewals, cancellations, holds, and account updates
- Resolve membership escalations and service issues with timely follow through
Inventory and Facility Operations:
- Maintain inventory control for supplies, retail items, concessions and program materials.
- Perform ordering, receiving, labeling, storage, and monthly reconciliations
- Track equipment condition and coordinate maintenance requests and vendor services
- Support safety and cleanliness standards including walkthroughs and incident reporting


Marketing and Communications:
- Plan and post content across social media channels
- Create flyers, digital signage, and email campaigns utilizing Canva
- Monitor engagement metrics and recommend improvements
- Maintain website and calendar content
Scheduling and Program Support:
- Build and publish weekly staff schedules
- Coordinate facility reservations
- Support instructors with rosters, attendance, and setup
- Assist with special event planning and logistics


Administration and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate records including memberships, attendance, inventory, and invoices
- Prepare reports on membership activity, sales, and operational metrics
- Support policy updates, SOPs, and training materials
Community and Team Collaboration:
- Build positive relationships with members, partners, and vendors
- Partner with leadership to implement programs and improve services and the overall community of the Recreation Center
- Uphold a welcoming, inclusive environment


Required Skills/Abilities:
• Experience in recreation, fitness, hospitality, retail or community center operations
• Supervisory experience in customer-facing environments
• Knowledge of scheduling and staffing coordination
• Competency in use of MS Office software, database software, Canva and social media websites
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
• Excellent time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines
• Strong problem-solving skills
• Strong leadership skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication
• Ability to adjust schedule to meet company needs, may include occasional nights and weekends
• Strong communication skills; Bilingual English/Spanish a plus
• Ability to stand for long periods of time and to lift up to 50 pounds


Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree, or related field; OR High School Diploma and equivalent of 2-5 years of relevant work experience.


Required Certifications:
Current CPR for the Professional, AED, First Aid, and Arizona Food Handlers Card or ability to obtain within the first ninety (90) days of employment.
