How You’ll Make an Impact

The Portfolio Manager plays a critical role in managing and monitoring a diverse portfolio of commercial loans. The individual is responsible for maintaining asset quality, analyzing financials, supporting relationship managers, and ensuring compliance with internal credit policies and regulatory standards. The ideal candidate is fully credit-trained but can be supplemented if not the case via extensive work experience exclusive to the role and also brings in-depth operational knowledge of bank processes and risk management practices.  


Key Responsibilities

  1. Collaborate with commercial lender to generate loans consistent with the banks strategies and policies.
  2. Assists commercial lenders with the assessment and the processing of term Sheet, loan applications, commitment letters, future maturity and loan modifications, site visits, ticklers and past dues, closing process ensuring compliance with lending criteria and internal risk policies.
  3. Assist commercial lender to provide data to support tactical adjustments to lending operations and BSA Compliance. 
  4. Handles the administrative side from the inception to the closing of the loan applications including gathering necessary documents, conducting preliminary checks, and updating loan processing systems, BSA, review weekly pipeline, clear closing conditions.
  5. Supports commercial lenders and the Credit Department with the monitoring of the portfolio ticklers and past due. approvals, loan modifications, site visits, closing conditions, downgrades or rejections in a timely and efficient manner.
  6. Communicate and responds to customer inquiries regarding loan applications, supporting documentation, terms, and repayment plans, loan activity, operational issues encountered. 
  7. Represents the bank in the community through good customer relations and business organizations
  8. Other duties: Perform other duties as assigned by leaders.


Requirements

Required Education: Technical Studies

Possible Degrees: Minimum two (2) to four (4) years of related experience

Other Education: Notary Public

Required Years of Experience in Position: 2-3 Years

Languages: English and Spanish (Preferred)


Technical Knowledge and Skills

  1. Extensive background in commercial lending, bank policies, procedures, and banking regulations (State and Federal government
  2. Professional and service oriented demeanor with a strong interpersonal, communications, problem-solving and organizational skills
  3. High regard to the importance of confidentially, and BSA knowledge 
  4. Ability to very effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients and other employed of the organization in both English and Spanish.
