OHLA USA’s Building Division is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead a vertical construction project in Miami. This candidate is a Florida-registered Architect minimum of 5 years with a strong background in managing complex building projects from early design through construction and closeout. This role serves as a key leader and liaison between the owner, design partners, consultants, and OHLA project teams to ensure successful project delivery aligned with scope, schedule, budget, and quality expectations.


Responsibilities

 

 

Project Leadership & Design-Build Execution

  • Lead all phases of aProgressive Design-Build project, from preconstruction and design development through construction and closeout.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for the owner, architect-of-record, consultants, and internal OHLA teams.
  • Collaborate closely with designers during early design phases to provide constructability reviews, cost input, schedule validation, and value-based solutions.
  • Provide regular project updates, risk assessments, and performance reports to senior management.
  • Foster a collaborative, transparent environment consistent with progressive design-build best practices.

Planning, Scheduling & Field Coordination

  • Develop and manage the overall project schedule, including design milestones, permitting, procurement, and construction activities.
  • Coordinate closely with the Superintendent and field teams to align design decisions with construction sequencing and site logistics.
  • Lead Owner-Architect-Contractor (OAC) meetings, design coordination meetings, and internal project reviews.
  • Monitor progress against milestones and proactively implement corrective actions as needed.

Cost Management & Change Control

  • Prepare and manage project budgets, cost models, forecasts, and cash flow throughout all phases of the project.
  • Support open-book cost tracking and cost transparency typical of Progressive Design-Build delivery.
  • Issue and manage subcontracts, purchase orders, and change orders.
  • Evaluate cost impacts related to design evolution, scope refinement, and field conditions.

Quality, Safety & Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with contract documents, design intent, Florida Building Code, and local permitting requirements.
  • Work in partnership with the Superintendent to enforce OHLA’s safety policies, site-specific safety plans, and OSHA standards.
  • Oversee quality control efforts across design and construction phases.
  • Coordinate inspections, testing, and regulatory approvals.

Client & Stakeholder Management

  • Maintain strong, professional relationships with the client, design partners, consultants, and community stakeholders.
  • Ensure client goals, functional requirements, and budget constraints are clearly understood and incorporated throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Support business development efforts by delivering a positive client experience that promotes repeat work.

Closeout & Turnover

  • Lead project closeout activities, including punch list completion, final inspections, and turnover documentation.
  • Ensure delivery of warranties, as-built drawings, O&M manuals, and final project records.
  • Coordinate facility handover and orientation as required by the client.

 

 

 

 


Qualifications

  • Licensed Architect registered in the State of Florida (required).
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in project management for vertical construction projects.
  • Strong understanding of preconstruction services, constructability, cost modeling, and schedule integration.
  • Experience managing projects in South Florida preferred.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and collaboration skills
  • Proven knowledge of budgeting, scheduling, contracts, RFI/change order processes, and field operations.
  • OSHA 30-hour certification required or ability to obtain within 30 days.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word) and construction software such as Autodesk Build, Primavera P6, Bluebeam, or equivalent.
