THE ROLE
WT is growing in Miami, and we are looking for a Cost Manager who wants to do more than just produce numbers – you will be a trusted advisor to owners, developers, and design teams on some of the most exciting projects in the market.
As a Cost Manager in our Miami office, you will join a growing North America team and work closely with senior leaders to deliver end-to-end cost estimating and cost management services to owners, architects, and developers. You will play a visible, client-facing role, helping align design and budget, manage risk, and support intelligent decision-making from early feasibility through final account.
RESPONSIBILITIES
You will be responsible for pre- and post-contract cost management on a portfolio of projects, which may include high-end commercial, residential, hospitality, and mixed-use developments depending on client needs (exact project mix will be confirmed during interview to reflect live pipeline).
Undertaken and deliver
- Preparing detailed cost estimates and peer reviews at all design stages, from schematic design through construction documents.· Managing bid processes, bid leveling and recommendations, and commentary on contractual documentation.· Managing change orders, including entitlement review, measurement, negotiation, and recommendations in line with contract and client process.
- Reviewing and processing payment applications and soft-cost invoices and coordinating with client accounting teams.
- Delivering monthly cost reporting, forecasting, and cash flow analysis to keep stakeholders fully informed.
- Providing clear cost advice and options appraisals to enable informed client decisions and successful project outcomes.
Other tasks
- Assist with RFP bid preparation and attend project interviewsÂ
- Collect and provide project benchmarking data
- Understanding industry trends and developments to facility accurate cost and industry advice to our clients, architects and partners
- Communicate effective verbally and written to delivery accurate cost advice
- Demonstrate time management skills to plan manage and delivery tasks in a timely manner
- Demonstrate a professional manner when representing WT with clients, consultants and contractors to develop a positive and collaborative working relationship
- Identify opportunities to develop new business with existingÂ
- Support other team members as requiredÂ
- Support other offices, projects and/or services stream in the preparation of cost related or general task as required from time to time
- Performs such other duties as the supervisor may from time to time deem necessary
REQUIRED
- BSc in Quantity Surveying or an equivalent relevant degree.
- Demonstrated pre- and post-contract experience (estimating, procurement, change management, and final accounts).
- Proven time-management skills, with the ability to plan, manage, and deliver tasks to agreed deadlines and standards.
- Eligibility to work in the United States (US citizenship or existing/transferable right to work).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present clear cost advice at meetings and in reports.
- Minimum of 3 years of technical experience in cost management / quantity surveying.
PREFERRED
- Professional accreditation such as MRICS (Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors) or equivalent, or active progress toward it.
- Prior consultancy experience working with owners, developers, and design teams on complex or high-profile projects.
- Experience with digital cost management tools such as CostX, On-Screen Takeoff (OST), Revit, and BIM-enabled workflows.
