The University of Miami/UHealth Department of Pediatrics has an exciting opportunity for a full time Research Associate 1 to work in Miami, FL.
The Research Associate 1 supports research activities for the assigned division by conducting laboratory experiments on assigned research projects. Moreover, the incumbent operates with the goal of advancing his/her expertise through continued education, training, and research.
Core responsibilities:
Understands and interprets research protocols and procedures.
Participates in the publication of significant results.
Maintains an overview of relevant research findings.
Ensures all research is undertaken according to good research practice.
Keeps abreast of current publications relative to methods, techniques, and developments within the area of research.
Collects, prepares, analyzes, dissects, and evaluates specimens or tissue cultures.
Operates and maintains laboratory equipment.
Performs a variety of routine assays, tests, and studies.
Performs calculations to complete research test results, collects data, and performs statistical analysis of laboratory results.
Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.
Department Specific Functions:
Data management and service coordination:
Transcribes and de-identifies information from planning meetings
Scores program metric measures
Enters PCIT related data into appropriate databases (e.g., Children's Trust, SPSS, REDCap, Uchart) and maintains and organizes relevant databases
Collects and organizes data from PCIT personnel
Provides PCIT personnel with appropriate forms that need to be completed for data management
Assists in the preparation of relevant grant reports
Preparing program materials and coordinating program activities:
Assists with coordination and scheduling of training workshops, assessment sessions, and coaching sessions
Provides friendly, efficient, and professional telephone, email, and office contact with PCIT team members, parents, and community agency personnel
Duplicates teacher handouts, workshop materials, data/coding sheets
Prepares assessment containing appropriate measures/forms
Participates in staff development and in-service training
Other duties as assigned by the PCIT Directors
Manuscript preparation:
Conduct literature reviews
Write assigned sections of manuscripts
Complete bibliographies

Core Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in relevant field required
No previous experience required
Learning Agility: Ability to learn new procedures, technologies, and protocols, and adapt to changing priorities and work demands.
Teamwork: Ability to work collaboratively with others and contribute to a team environment. -
Technical Proficiency: Skilled in using office software, technology, and relevant computer applications.
Communication: Strong and clear written and verbal communication skills for interacting with colleagues and stakeholders.
Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish is preferred (reading, writing, speaking)
Skill in collecting and organizing data.
Commitment to implementing and following established tracking systems.
Ability to work independently and/or in a collaborative environment.
Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form.
