JOB TITLE: Sr. Liaison Engineer

DUTIES:

Responsible for providing engineering and technical support for airframe and system related problems, design deviations encountered during aircraft maintenance checks, STC modification of transport category aircraft. Responsible for working in alliance with designers, stress engineers, and Designated Engineering Representatives. Coordinate with lead technicians, supervisors, and quality assurance to solve engineering issues, maintaining quality, compliance, and aircraft safety, Produce, via AEI’s EO system, detailed and accurate EO engineering instructions/repairs and sketches. Research/review engineering data (drawing, manuals, etc) to determine the most effective method of repair or alteration. Research Airworthiness Directive’s (AD’s) to determine their effect on the repair or deviation. Research OEM manuals to determine structural identification, allowable limits. Research MMPDS to determine material strength. Perform comprehensive check of EO’s and supporting data prepared by staff engineers. Travel to various unanticipated locations throughout the US and internationally 10% of time. 

REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering or related, Mechanical Engineering or scientific field, plus 5 years experience in occupations involving Liaison engineering duties or related. Ability to climb in & around transport category aircraft. Ability to work on aircraft ext. periods (hot/cold weather). Exp & knowledge in AutoCAD. Aircraft industry programs Aging Aircraft Safety Rule, Corrosion. Prevention & Control (CPCP), Supplemental Structural Inspection Doc (SSID), Repair Assessment Program (RAP) for multi fleet types & models. Metallic Materials Properties Development & Standards (MMPDS). Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) process.

HOURS: Monday through Friday, 40 hours a week
