Job Overview:

The primary purpose of the Staff Accountant is to assist the Controller with month end close and account reconciliations.  This position will analyze financial information and prepare financial reports to determine or maintain a record of assets, liabilities, profit and loss, tax liability, or other financial activities within the organization.  

Duties and Responsibilities

· Assist with monthly closing activities to ensure that financial statements and general ledgers are closed timely and accurately

· Prepare & review various month end journal entries & reconciliations in accordance with policies and timelines

· Review of Accounts Payable vouchers for proper submittal of payments

· Assist with preparation of monthly & quarterly reporting packages and various operational analytics

· Assist with performance of various SOX compliance procedures

· Support internal and external audits as needed

· Assist with standard cost and absorption analysis as required

· Assist with physical inventories

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Superior written and oral communication skills

· Knowledge of PC spreadsheets, word processing and database applications (Microsoft Excel, Power BI, SQL and OneStream preferred)

· Overall comprehensive understanding of business processes, with manufacturing experience preferred

· Highly motivated, self-starter with good analytical and problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently

 

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting/Finance, with 1-2 years of related experience preferred but not required. 
  •  Experience with ERP application a plus
  •  Experience with SOX controls compliance a plus

 

Physical Requirements

· The employee regularly is required to walk, climb or balance, and talk and hear.  

· The employee is occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
