Position Summary:

We are searching for a Staff Accountant II to join our accounting team supporting our dialysis and substance abuse treatment operations. This role is ideal for a hands-on accounting professional with advanced technical skills, a talent for regulatory filings, and a proactive approach to process improvement. You’ll take ownership of higher-level accounting functions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and perform complex general ledger account reconciliations, journal entries, and month-end/quarter-end close activities.
  • Prepare, review, and file personal property tax returns, CAT Q and workers’ compensation filings, and ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee and maintain corporate registrations, business licenses, and related documentation for all company entities.
  • Utilize Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central for transaction processing, and process enhancements.
  • Partner with auditors during annual audits and support ad hoc projects related to compliance, budgeting, or process improvement.
  • Identify opportunities for automation, efficiency, and internal control enhancements.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
  • 3+ years of progressive accounting experience, ideally in healthcare or substance abuse treatment.
  • Strong working knowledge of multi state and local tax compliance, and business registrations.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and hands-on experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and work independently.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • High attention to detail and a strong commitment to accuracy.
  • CPA or progress toward CPA is a plus, but not required.
