Position Overview:

The Transportation Manager is responsible for overseeing transportation-related operations, including effective delivery to clients' carriers, to ensure timely product transportation, He / She manages staff that assist with transportation activities, ensuring driver´s development and training and verifying compliance with safety rules and regulations. Together with Operation Manager verifies client invoices and approves shipping area expenses for one network´s Company.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES

● Oversee fleet availability, maintenance, and insurance to ensure cost effective product transportation.

● Coordinate delivery to client´s carriers to ensure timely product transportation.

● Participate on the holiday´s product delivery planning process and coordinate special deliveries to define the transportation fleet necessary for effective operation.

● Oversee drivers' development, training, and management to maximize employee performance and promote company's culture.

● Support Operations Manager in invoice verification and approval to ensure all services provided to customers are included on invoice.

● Verify and approve shipping area expenses of one network´s Company to ensure payment to service providers.

● Verify driver's records and units are updated in the Department of Transportation (DOT) platform to comply with legal requirements.

● Coordinate all other activities related to the operation including dumping and supporting storage capacity verification to guarantee efficient operation.

● Define and monitor the budget to achieve area efficiency.

Qualifications:

● Master's degree in Business, Logistics degree preferred.

● Financial, mathematical, and accounting knowledge preferred.

● Proficient in the use of Excel.

● Knowledge of Microsoft Power BI, Microsoft Teams, and SharePoint (One Drive, Drop Box).

Education

● Bachelor's degree in Business, Logistics, or related discipline, required.

Experience

● Minimum 2-3 years of experience in transportation management role preferred.

● Minimum 2-3 years of experience in transportation logistics.

● Experience leading, developing, and managing a team.

Knowledge, technical skills, and abilities

● Ability to delegate duties and be a team player.

● Excellent organizational skills to manage responsibilities and tasks in a timely and effective manner.

● Problem-solving skills to ensure quick and efficient solutions when problems arise, guaranteeing the necessary resources to fulfill the operation.

● Technological skills to manage the department, effectively using software to track schedules, routes, and other data.

● Excellent leadership skills to implement strategy, develop and engage a team, lead change and drive innovation.

● Excellent disposition to work overtime during high season holidays.

● Analytical skills and ability to interpret and communicate data.

● Customer service oriented.

● Excellent written and oral communication skills.

● Bilingual; written and spoken English and Spanish.

● Skilled with Microsoft office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), particularly Excel.

● Strong leadership skills to implement strategy, develop and engage a team, lead change and drive innovation.
