Role OverviewÂ
We are seeking a Graphic Designer with sharp instincts, fast turnaround capabilities, and a strong understanding of visual communication. This role is responsible for producing consistent, on-brand graphics across platforms — including social media, digital campaigns, publications, and live events.Â
You’ll be embedded within the Communications Branch, collaborating closely with the Social Media Director and Web Designers to support ongoing storytelling and campaign needs. The ideal candidate has a strong grasp of layout, branding, and typography, and can take both direction and initiative.Â
Key Responsibilities:
Â
- Design branded graphics for digital and print: social posts, reports, decks, website banners, and event assetsÂ
Â
- Turn written or verbal briefs into visually clear, compelling outputsÂ
Â
- Collaborate with the Social Media Director to deliver timely platform-specific visualsÂ
Â
- Support the Web Design team with visual assets for new modules, pages, or micrositesÂ
Â
- Create infographics and data visualisations for reports and thought leadershipÂ
Â
- Maintain brand consistency across all content in accordance with the BCI brand manualÂ
Â
- Adapt visuals for different platforms and formats (e.g., accessibility, aspect ratios, languages)Â
Â
- Organise and maintain a shared asset library for communications useÂ
Experience and Skills
- Strong portfolio of visual design work (brand application, campaigns, layouts, infographics)Â
Â
- Experience working in nonprofit, advocacy, or policy-related design environmentsÂ
Â
- Ability to synthesise complex topics into clean, engaging visualsÂ
Â
- Familiarity with accessibility best practices for digital contentÂ
Â
- Strong attention to detail and ability to juggle multiple requestsÂ
Â
- Comfortable receiving and giving feedback in a collaborative settingÂ
Tools & PlatformsÂ
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign) or FigmaÂ
Â
- Experience with Canva Pro or other quick-turn design toolsÂ
Â
- Familiarity with project coordination tools like Trello Â
Â
- Light animation or motion graphics experience is a plusÂ
Â
- Basic understanding of WordPress asset integration is helpful but not required
- Knowledge of Wix is considered an advantage
