IntelliRad Imaging is seeking a skilled and compassionate individual to join our team as a Medical Office Front Desk and Authorization. As the first point of contact for patients, the ideal candidate will possess excellent interpersonal and organizational skills. The Medical Office Front Desk and Authorization plays a crucial role in ensuring a positive and efficient experience for patients and visitors while maintaining a professional and welcoming atmosphere in the clinic.

This position requires a BILINGUAL speaker (Spanish/English).

Responsibilities:

Patient Check-In and Registration:

    • Greet patients and visitors warmly and assist with the check-in process.
    • Verify patient information, insurance details, and update records as necessary.
    • Ensure all required forms and documentation are completed accurately.

Appointment Scheduling:

    • Schedule and confirm appointments for patients, coordinating with healthcare providers.
    • Manage appointment calendars and make necessary adjustments to accommodate urgent cases or changes.

Telephone and Communication:

    • Answer incoming calls promptly and professionally, directing calls to the appropriate department or staff member.
    • Respond to patient inquiries, provide information, and assist with appointment-related questions.
    • Relay messages accurately and in a timely manner.

Patient Information Confidentiality:

    • Uphold strict confidentiality regarding patient information in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
    • Safeguard patient privacy and ensure secure handling of sensitive information.

Insurance Verification and Billing:

    • Verify insurance coverage and eligibility for patients.
    • Obtain authorizations for clinic visits.
    • Assist with billing inquiries and provide basic information on payment processes.

Waiting Area Management:

    • Maintain a clean and organized waiting area.
    • Ensure that patients are informed about any delays and address their concerns courteously.

Collaboration with Healthcare Providers:

    • Communicate effectively with medical staff and other departments to facilitate a smooth patient flow.
    • Relay messages and updates promptly to the appropriate healthcare professionals.

Qualifications:

    • High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or certification in healthcare administration is a plus.
    • Previous experience in a medical office or clinic setting is preferred.
    • Proficient in using electronic health record (EHR) systems and other office software.
    • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with diverse individuals.
    • Exceptional organizational skills with attention to detail.
    • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
