Position Overview

Birch Agency is seeking a licensed and compassionate Occupational Therapist (OT) to provide school-based services in Miami, Florida for the 20262027 school year.

This highly flexible, part-time opportunity is ideal for an Occupational Therapist looking to supplement an existing caseload while making a meaningful impact on students' academic and functional success. The OT will provide services across two nearby school campuses, collaborating with educators, families, and multidisciplinary teams to support students with fine motor, sensory, visual motor, and functional skill development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct occupational therapy evaluations and assessments to determine students' educational and functional needs.

  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans aligned with students' IEP goals.

  • Provide direct occupational therapy services to students in individual and small-group settings.

  • Address fine motor, visual motor, sensory processing, handwriting, self-care, and classroom participation skills.

  • Recommend adaptive equipment, classroom accommodations, and assistive technology when appropriate.

  • Monitor student progress and modify treatment plans based on student performance.

  • Maintain accurate documentation, treatment notes, progress reports, and any required Medicaid billing.

  • Collaborate with teachers, administrators, speech-language pathologists, school psychologists, physical therapists, and families.

  • Participate in IEP meetings and multidisciplinary team meetings.

  • Ensure compliance with district, state, and federal special education regulations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program required.

  • Active Florida Occupational Therapy license required.

  • NBCOT certification preferred.

  • Previous school-based or pediatric experience preferred.

  • Strong knowledge of child development, sensory integration, fine motor development, and school-based occupational therapy practices.

  • Excellent communication, organizational, and collaboration skills.

  • Ability to work independently while effectively collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.

Work Environment
