The Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center is currently seeking a Per Diem Pharmacy Technician to work in Miami.

CORE JOB FUNCTIONS                                                                                                          

  • Weighs, counts, measures, and mixes medication.

  • Handles inventory to ensure that the pharmacy is appropriately stocked.

  • Receives written prescription, fills prescriptions or refill requests, and verifies that information is complete and accurate.

  • Answers telephones and responds to questions or requests.

  • Fills bottles with prescribed medications, and types and affixes labels.

  • Assists customers by answering simple questions, locating items, and referring them to the appropriate staff.

  • Establishes and maintains patient profiles and records.

  • Transfers medication from vials to the appropriate number of sterile and disposable syringes using aseptic techniques.

  • Supplies and monitors robotic machines that dispense medicine into containers.

  • Prepares and processes medical insurance claim forms and handles insurance claim records. Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.

CORE QUALIFICATIONS                                                                                                         

Education:

High school diploma or equivalent

Certification and Licensing:

FL Pharmacy Tech License

Experience:

Minimum 1 year of relevant experience
